Rupiani’s Is Moving to Lineage!
Well, this escalated quickly.
When we relaunched Rupiani’s, we had a pretty simple theory:
Make an incredible Chicago deep dish pizza. Build the business the right way. And see what happens.
Turns out, quite a lot happens.
Rupiani’s is growing considerably faster than we expected. Orders are climbing. Customers are coming back. Pizzas are traveling from Chicago to dinner tables across the country every week.
And we've officially reached a milestone we were hoping would take a little longer:
We've outgrown our fulfillment operation.
Not a bad problem to have.
So, We're Moving to Lineage.
Rupiani’s is officially transitioning its cold-chain fulfillment operations to Lineage, a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics.
Yes, that Lineage.
When you're shipping a few pizzas, you need a freezer and some dry ice.
When you're building a national frozen food brand, you need something a little more serious.
Lineage operates one of the world's largest temperature-controlled logistics networks, and we're building Rupiani’s for significantly more volume than we're doing today.
So we're upgrading early.
Because lately, "early" has had a funny way of becoming "right now."
Funny What Happens When You Get the Model Right.
Rupiani’s has been around since 1983.
The pizza was never the problem.
Sometimes a great product just needs the right moment, the right positioning, and the right businessman running it.
My team and I built Rupiani’s around a simple idea: take a genuinely great Chicago product, make it available nationwide, obsess over the customer experience, and build the economics and infrastructure necessary to scale it.
The response has been pretty clear.
America wants the pizza.
A lot of it.
So now we're building accordingly.
Same Chicago Pizza. Different League.
Moving to Lineage isn't about where Rupiani’s is today.
It's about where we're going.
More customers.
More states.
More corporate gifting.
More partnerships.
More pizza.
And an operation capable of handling all of it.
Our pizzas will still be handmade in Chicago. They'll still be blast-frozen at peak freshness. They'll still have the ridiculous amount of cheese and signature sauce that made Rupiani’s famous in the first place.
We're not industrializing the product.
We're industrializing everything around it.
There's a difference.
The Best Problems Are Growth Problems.
Every entrepreneur likes to talk about scaling.
It's considerably more fun when you actually have to do it.
Warehouses that once seemed perfectly adequate suddenly aren't. Shipping systems need upgrading. Inventory gets bigger. Forecasts get rewritten. Partners that made sense at one stage of the company don't necessarily make sense at the next.
That's business.
And frankly, we'll take that problem every time.
Because there's only one reason you have to keep building a bigger machine:
The smaller one can't keep up anymore.
1983 Was Just the Beginning.
There's something we love about taking a Chicago pizza brand born more than four decades ago and building it into something much bigger.
Some things age better than expected.
Rupiani’s is one of them.
We're moving faster. We're thinking bigger. And we're putting infrastructure in place today for a company that we expect to look very different a few years from now.
Lineage is the latest step.
It won't be the last.
To everyone ordering Rupiani’s, sending it as a gift, coming back for another box, or telling somebody else they need to try it:
Thank you.
Keep eating. We'll keep scaling.
