I Win! You Lose.

I Win! You Lose.

Harsh?

Maybe.

But let’s be honest about what actually happened.

You quit.

I didn’t.

That’s why I win.

You know how many people I’ve met over the years who were supposedly going to:

  • launch a brand,
  • build a startup,
  • disrupt an industry,
  • become financially free,
  • “escape the matrix,”
  • or “go all in”?

Almost all of them disappeared the second things became inconvenient.

Not catastrophic.

Not impossible.

Inconvenient.

One inventory problem?
Gone.

One stressful month?
Gone.

One customer complaint?
Gone.

One moment where entrepreneurship stopped feeling sexy?
Gone.

Meanwhile I chose perhaps one of the dumbest businesses imaginable:

Shipping frozen Chicago deep dish pizzas nationwide.

Honestly, it’s such an irrational business model that sometimes I laugh thinking about it.

“Hey Sean, what kind of company would you like to start?”

“Oh, I know. Let’s manufacture, freeze, package, dry-ice, and overnight ship 2-pound cheese bombs across America while trying to preserve authentic Chicago quality standards.”

Brilliant.

And yet…

I’m still here.

That’s the part the wantrepreneurs never understand.

Entrepreneurship is not about hype.
It’s not podcasts.
It’s not “mindset.”
It’s not posting fake motivational quotes while secretly applying for jobs again.

It’s endurance.

The game is surviving long enough to become good.

Most people never do.

Because surviving requires ego death.

It requires admitting your product sucks in certain areas.
It requires fixing things.
It requires adapting.
It requires stress tolerance.
It requires continuing after the excitement disappears.

Most people are emotionally incapable of that.

That’s why they lose.
